CPF retirement sum: yours by the year you turn 55

Choose the year you turn 55. The answer is CPF's own published figure.

CPF's retirement sums for a member who turns 55 in 2026:

S$110,200
Basic Retirement Sum
S$220,400
Full Retirement Sum
S$440,800
Enhanced Retirement Sum

CPF's page says the Basic and Full Retirement Sums are fixed according to your year of birth and that the Enhanced Retirement Sum increases yearly. The same page also says your retirement sum "depends on the time you turn age 55 and is fixed for the rest of your life", so which year's Enhanced Retirement Sum applies to you is for CPF to say. This page shows the one for 2026. The two statements are on CPF's retirement sum article.

What each sum pays from CPF LIFE

CPF publishes the Standard Plan payout for six amounts of Retirement Account savings. These are for a male member turning 55 in 2026. A sum that is one of them shows CPF's own figure; any other shows none, because a figure in between would be one this site worked out, not one CPF published.

BasicS$110,200S$950S$1,280

What happens to your savings at 55

On your 55th birthday CPF opens your Retirement Account and moves your Special Account, then Ordinary Account, savings into it up to the Full Retirement Sum. Enter your balances on that day, before the move.

Moves into your Retirement Account
S$220,400
The Full Retirement Sum of S$220,400.
Left in your Ordinary Account
S$29,600
Savings above the Full Retirement Sum stay here and you can withdraw them.

If you own a property in Singapore with a lease that lasts until you are 95 or older, CPF lets you meet the Full Retirement Sum with a mixture of property (up to 50% of it, S$110,200 here) and cash. What you could then withdraw from your Retirement Account above the Basic Retirement Sum is CPF's own assessment of your property, its value, any loan and co-owners, and it lowers your monthly payouts, so this page works out no figure for it.

CPF's own estimate for a male member with S$220,400 in the Retirement Account at 55 is S$1,780 a month from 65 and S$2,380 from 70.

Questions people ask

What are the Basic, Full and Enhanced Retirement Sums?
They are three amounts CPF uses for the savings in your Retirement Account. CPF says the Basic Retirement Sum provides monthly payouts to cover basic living needs, excluding rental expenses; the Full Retirement Sum is an ideal point of reference of how much one needs in retirement; and the Enhanced Retirement Sum provides a higher monthly payout, for those who might need more retirement income. For a member who turns 55 in 2026 they are S$110,200, S$220,400 and S$440,800.
Which retirement sum applies to me?
The Basic and Full Retirement Sums are fixed by the year you turn 55, and CPF has published them for 2025 to 2027. CPF says the Enhanced Retirement Sum increases yearly, and also that your retirement sum depends on the time you turn 55 and is fixed for the rest of your life, so which year's Enhanced Retirement Sum applies to you is for CPF to say. For a year CPF has not announced, this page shows the latest sums it has published and says so; CPF says the Basic and Full Retirement Sums are adjusted annually.
What happens to my savings above the Full Retirement Sum at 55?
CPF opens your Retirement Account on your 55th birthday and moves your Special Account, then Ordinary Account, savings into it up to the Full Retirement Sum. Savings above it stay in your Ordinary Account and are withdrawable. If your savings fall short of the Full Retirement Sum, up to S$5,000 may stay in your Ordinary Account, and the rest goes to the Retirement Account.
Can I use my property for part of the retirement sum?
If you own a property in Singapore with a lease that lasts until you are 95 or older, CPF lets you meet the Full Retirement Sum with a mixture of property (up to 50% of it) and cash. What you could withdraw from your Retirement Account above the Basic Retirement Sum is CPF's own assessment of your property, its value, any loan and co-owners, and withdrawing lowers your future monthly payouts. This page works out no withdrawal figure; ask CPF.
How much monthly payout does each retirement sum give?
On CPF's own Standard Plan estimates for a male member turning 55 in 2026: S$950 a month from 65 for the Basic Retirement Sum, S$1,780 for the Full and S$3,440 for the Enhanced, and more if you start later. CPF publishes these for six amounts only, so this page shows none for any other.
