CPF calculator: what goes in each month

Enter your age and monthly salary. The answer is the CPF contribution and where it goes.

On a monthly salary of S$5,000 at 30, CPF takes each month a total of

S$1,850

That is S$1,000 from you (20% of S$5,000) and S$850 from your employer (17%), the rates for a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident from the third year, from 1 January 2026. The figures here are an example: replace them with yours.

55 (you stop), after the moveS$341,981S$228,200S$79,000

At 55 CPF moves savings into the Retirement Account up to the Full Retirement Sum of S$228,200 (the 2027 sum, the latest CPF has published: CPF adjusts the sums each year, so yours will probably differ).

How this is worked out: the accounts earn CPF's base rates of 2.5% (Ordinary Account) and 4% (Special, Retirement and MediSave Accounts), less the 2.5% inflation you assume, so the balances are in today's dollars. The rates are CPF's floor rates, held flat (CPF has set the 4% floor until the end of 2027; the page holds it after that). A year's contributions earn half a year's interest. MediSave stops at the Basic Healthcare Sum of S$79,000 (2026, for members below 65, held at today's dollars; an older member's fixed sum is their own and is not modelled): the excess goes to the Special Account before 55 and the Retirement Account from 55, each up to the Full Retirement Sum, then to the Ordinary Account. The contribution rates, wage ceiling and allocation are the 2026 ones in every year; CPF has announced higher rates from 1 January 2027 for ages above 55 to 65, which are not used here.

The three account columns are the share of each contribution, as CPF's allocation table gives them. CPF changes your rate from the month after the birthday that takes you into the next age band, so the page uses the rate for the age you have reached. Not modelled: extra interest, a Basic Healthcare Sum that rises each year, bonuses and additional wages, a Permanent Resident's first two years, graded rates for wages of S$750 or less, self-employed MediSave and housing withdrawals.

Questions people ask

How much CPF is deducted from my salary?
It depends on your age. For a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident from the third year, from 1 January 2026, you pay 20% of your monthly wage and your employer adds 17% if you are 55 or below, 37% in all. The rates fall in the age bands above 55. They apply to wages up to the Ordinary Wage ceiling of S$8,000 a month, and CPF's table is for monthly wages above S$750.
How is the CPF contribution split between the accounts?
By ratios that depend on your age. CPF works out the MediSave share first, then the Special Account share (the Retirement Account from 55), and the rest goes to the Ordinary Account. The table above shows each ratio for each age band.
What happens to my CPF at 55?
CPF opens your Retirement Account and moves your Special Account, then Ordinary Account, savings into it up to the Full Retirement Sum. From then your contributions go to the Retirement Account until it holds the Full Retirement Sum, then to the Ordinary Account. The balances at 55 on this page are after that move.
Is the CPF calculation in today's dollars?
Yes. The accounts earn CPF's base interest rates less the inflation you assume, and your salary rises by the real pay rise you assume (no rise holds it at today's dollars), so the balances are in today's money, not the larger dollars of the year you reach them.
