Privacy

The short version: there are no accounts, we never see the numbers you type, and the analytics we do run are stripped of your figures before they are recorded.

Your figures stay in your browser

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your age, what you have invested, what you spend and what you save are never sent to us, never stored on a server, and never written to a database. There is no database.

There are no accounts, no sign-up, no login and no email capture on any calculator. You can use every feature of this site without telling us anything about yourself.

The one place your numbers do appear: the address bar

So that a result can be shared, the calculators write their inputs into the page URL — you will see something like ?age=35&have=250000&spend=50000. That happens in your browser, and it is what makes a link you copy reproduce the same result for whoever opens it.

Two consequences worth being plain about. First, if you paste that link somewhere public, the numbers in it are public too — that is the point of the link, but it is worth knowing before you post one in a forum. Second, because a shared link would otherwise carry those figures into our analytics, we explicitly tell Google Analytics to record only the page path and to discard the query string. Your figures are not in our analytics, even when someone arrives on a shared link.

What we do collect

Google Analytics 4, on the live site only, and only to see which pages people find useful. It records the page path, rough location at country or city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived — a search, a link, or directly. It sets its own cookies to do that.

  • We do not run advertising, retargeting pixels or affiliate tracking of any kind.
  • We do not sell or share data with anyone.
  • We do not attempt to identify you, and we hold nothing that could.
  • Analytics do not run at all on local or preview builds — only on the live domain.

If you would rather not be counted, any browser-level tracking blocker or Do Not Track setting will stop it, and nothing on the site stops working if you do.

Links out, and hosting

We link to primary sources — government agencies, regulators, research bodies — so you can check our figures. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we have no control over them.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request logs including IP addresses as part of serving and protecting the site.

How we choose and check the figures themselves is a separate question, and we answer it in full on our editorial standards.
